More and more bloggers are finding that blogging is a profitable medium.Whether it be to earn a few extra dollars a week to feed their coffee habit, or making enough money to stop them having to get a part-time job to get through college, or whether they’ve got it to a point where they are able to make a full time living from their blogging - there are tens of thousands of bloggers making money from blogging.

opportunity
In this page, I want to share some information for beginners on making money from their blogs.

I will start by sharing my own top Money Making Methods (updated regularly) but below that point you to some great resources and teaching on how to increase your income from blogging.

How I Make Money Blogging?

What follows is a quick summary of my main income streams from blogging. Before you read it though - keep in mind that every blog is unique in how it can make money. Some of the following income streams will work on some blogs a lot better than others - the key is to experiment with as many as possible and see what works best for you.

The following income streams (from a number of blogs) have helped me to earn a six-figure income each year for the last three years from blogging. I’ve ranked them from highest to lowest.

I hope you find it useful to see the mix and variety of ways that I earn a living from blogging.

1. AdSense

I continue to use AdSense with amazing effect on my blogs. I have them all set to show an image and text-based ads and find that 250×300 pixel ads work best (usually with a blended design). I don’t have much luck with their ‘referrals’ program but their normal ads work a treat and continue to be the biggest earner for me.

2. Chitika
chitika.com continues to be a great performer for me on my blogs.

They work best on product related blogs although their recent announcement of their Premium ad unit is exciting as they now offer ads with a non-product focus that I’m hearing great conversions on (I have one reader who is getting $28 CPM on this ad unit).Chitika offers a range of ad units that I experiment with. I find their eMiniMalls work best and that Related Product Units are also good. Their Shoplincs product isn’t performing as well as it once did for me - mainly because I’ve been promoting it less and have driven less traffic to it. Over the time I’ve been using Chitika they’ve now earned me over a quarter of a million dollars - I can’t recommend them enough!

3. Private Ad Sales/Sponsorships

private-ad-salesPrivate ad sales directly to advertisers have continued to grow over the last few months and as a result, they’re now my third highest income stream.
I expect them to overtake both Chitika and AdSense in the coming months.
This includes ad sales of the 125 x 125 ads here as well as a campaign or two.

4. Amazon Associates

Amazon’s affiliate program has been one of my big movers in the last 12 months.
I used to make a few odd dollars from it - however, in recent times it has become a significant earner for me.
This quarter it grew even more than previously as a result of continued growth of DPS where I recommend books, software, and cameras.

5. Miscellaneous Affiliate Programs

Miscellaneous affiliate programs, I run a variety of affiliate programs on my blogs - most of which bring in smaller amounts of money that don’t really justify a category of their own.
These include -products of Best affiliate program directory online:,E-junkie,affiliates.moreniche.com, amazon.com, Click2Sell, ClickBank, and Commission Junction, or independent free affiliates programs: SFI, linkelevator.com, wpremix.com Click here to view more details, hostazar.com, cubancrafters.com Webmasters Earn Money Here!, phantomplate.com, Hostgator, getpaidmail.com
, totalwellnessconsulting.ca, india-herbs.com, shelancers.com, cashspeeder.com, culvershawnmak, Picmoney's Money EmpiGuide, Unique Article Wizard, etc.
The great thing about many of these programs is that they are of such high quality that they sell themselves and I am being em ailed from readers who sign up to them thanking me for the recommendation!

6. Shopzilla
l has really impressed me with how it’s performed over the last few weeks.
It’s actually doing well enough to debut . The ads are similar to Chitika but the click values have been higher for me to this point.
They don’t offer quite as many options as Chitika does in terms of types of ads but for a new ad network, there’s definitely promising signs.
I’m looking forward to seeing how they continue to develop!

7. Job Boards

Jobboardheader The job boards here continue to grow each month in the number of advertisements that are being bought.
This enabled me to invest most of the money that they’d earned a while back into getting a new backend for the boards and to redesign them.
It hit me today that the boards are now bringing in around $1000 a month in revenue which is pretty nice considering that they are so low maintenance to run.
They also offer a service to readers and add value to the overall blog.
The only problem that I face with the job boards is that there are so many bloggers looking for work that the demand for jobs far exceeds the supply.
On the good side of things is that advertisers are reporting getting an amazing quality of applications.

8. WidgetBucks
Earn $$ with WidgetBucks
widgetbucks.jpg Another newcomer to this list is
Earn $$ with WidgetBucks
- another ad network that readers will be familiar with.

WidgetBucks is similar to Chitika and Shopzilla in many respects and works well on product related sites.
It does best on sites with US traffic (the reason I’ve not used it as much as I get a lot of international traffic) so if you have a product related site with a US audience it’d be a no brainer to try out WidgetBucks.
I’m hoping they’ll continue to expand their offerings in terms of ad types and visitor location.

9. Miscellaneous Advertising Programs

Miscellaneous ad networks -I also play with a number of other ad networks.
Some I run as tests to see if I should review them here - and some are just advertising that run in the background on some of my smaller blogs.
These include ShoppingAds, Feedburner RSS ads, Vizu (a poll advertising system), Kontera, together these don’t add up to major earnings for me - not because they are not good, but because I don’t use them heavily (a blog can only run so many ads on it).

I think that that covers most of it although it’s worth mentioning that last time I did this list I also included www.text-link-ads.com which used to be every bloggers favorite way to make money blogging by selling text links.

How To Make Money On Your Blog?

Time for a quick reader survey. How Do You Make Money On Your Blog? These have been from companies like BlogAds (AlternateURL
, Make money from your Website or Blog with BidVertiser, Adsense, Chitika Ads ) PayPerPost ( Targeted Blog Advertising With PerformancingAds and Federated Media.

It strikes me that these three models are quite varied - but that they only scratch the surface in the different methods that bloggers are using to make money from their blogs.

Make Money

So here is my question: How do you monetize your blog?

What ad networks, affiliate programs, review programs etc, do you use?

If you've read any press in the last year, you've probably come to the same conclusion we have: blogs are here to stay. In fact, the number of Internet users already reading blogs and blogging themselves may shock you.

  •  One-quarter of all Internet users read blogs - roughly 32 million American adults.
  •  9% of all Internet users say they've created a blog.
  •  American young adults, classified as ages 18-29, are most actively involved with blogging. 19% have created blogs and 36% read them.
  •  18% of Internet users over 50 years of age read blogs.
  •  Men and women are represented nearly equally in the blog-reading population.

So the audience is definitely there, but what are they reading? Everything under the sun, from plastic surgery to biking across New Zeeland. Closer to home, blogs track performance marketing strategies and the opinions of a host of online marketing professionals. The point here is that you've got a lot of people reading a great deal of highly-targeted content.

So now it makes sense to ask: can publishers effectively monetize one of the Web's last vestiges of traditionally marketing-free content to reach these tantalizing audiences? Should they? The debate is raging all over the Internet and can be best followed on, well, blogs. Some might call it greedy or sacrilege, but we think blog advertising is a line worth crossing assuming that we, as publishers, can find ways to include contextually relevant affiliate ads that provide value to blog readers. After all, hosting and ISPs don't pay for themselves!

  • 1. The first are bloggers who are writing for their friends and family. Given that they already have a trusted relationship, credibility around product recommendations is a non-issue. In a sense, friends and family can reward publishers for learning about new, often niche, products they wouldn't have learned about otherwise.
  • 2. The second [group] are people who don't necessarily call themselves bloggers or view themselves as journalists. They are just using the simple tools of blogging to publisher Web sites without having to learn HTML, so they don't have credibility issues around monetizing their blogs either.

So let's assume you fall into the categories above or that you're on board with blogging. Now it's Advertising 101, folks: know your audience and target your ads accordingly.
In other words, one can't simply throw up an apparel advertiser's banner in the middle of a blog about the experiences of a Commission Junction publisher and expect to generate commissions. However, placing a text link for a hosting offer in the space where you describe your costs as a publisher or a placing a $50 off at Yahoo! Search Marketing and when blogging about SEM are both contextually relevant and valuable to readers.

If you're already blogging, chances are there are plenty of Commission Junction advertising programs that match your content and audience. Take the lead of companies like blog search engine Blogdigger, who announced its version of a geo-targeted blog search feature recently, and implement your unique, lucrative take on blogs today!

Affiliate marketing is an online advertising channel in which advertisers (online merchants that sell products or services) pay publishers (independent parties that promote the products or services of an advertiser on their Web site) only for results, such as a visitor making a purchase or filling out a form, rather than paying simply to reach a particular audience. This "pay-for-performance" model is, in essence, the modern version of the "finders'-fee" model, where individuals who introduce new clients to a business are compensated. The difference in the case of affiliate marketing is that advertisers only pay their publishers when the new client introduction results in a sale or a lead, making it a low-risk, high-reward environment for both parties.

How it Works
Advertisers in our network, the CJ Marketplace, populate their ad links in the interface, making them available for placement by publishers. Each link is assigned a commission, such as a fixed amount per lead or a percentage of a resulting sale on the advertiser's Web site. Publishers looking to monetize their traffic apply to join an advertiser's program. Upon acceptance, the publishers select and place the advertiser's links on their Web sites, in their email campaigns or as part of search listings.

When a consumer clicks on a publisher's link, a cookie is set on the visitor's browser that identifies the advertiser, the publisher, and the specific link and payment rates. When the visitor makes an actual purchase online or fills out a form, that transaction is tracked and recorded by Commission Junction. Upon recording the transaction, Commission Junction handles all of the collection and processing required to ensure fair and timely commission payment for the publisher, and all of the administration and verification necessary to ensure quality sales and leads for the advertiser.

 Successful Marketing Strategies

If you have started your own online business; the only way for your business to succeed rather than fail is for you to promote it and have successful marketing strategies. You can do this by paying for advertisements or get the same attention for free through article marketing.

Marketing Strategies
You need to consider Search engine optimization as from the beginning.

Organic SEO is the most important step by step promotion strategy you need to implement in your online business marketing, you need to make a business plan about what you need to do every day, at least an hour a day, to make your website move forward in the Search engines result from pages.
And one of the best SEO strategies is article marketing.

To help you get started with article marketing, here are 3 secrets.

  • First, you must come up with a title to promote your business.Ever heard the line, “Curiosity killed the cat”, in this case, no one is going to get hurt. But could you just imagine what would happen if people would like to know more about the article just by reading the title? It would also be helpful if you use keywords so people who type it will see your article. At the same time, you can mention the benefits of what reading your articles can do for them.

  • Second, make sure that your article is well organized. Instead of just writing your article paragraph by paragraph, maximize the use bullets or numbers to stress important points. This will make their reading experience a memorable one because they are able to remember it.

Once you finish writing the article, read it over and see if you understand it.
Better yet, give this to someone and see what they say. If there are some concerns, edit it because although you may be an expert in this matter, your readers may not and the reason why they want to read it is to learn more about what you have to offer.

Don’t forget to check your article to see if there is anything new you would like to add. This is where variety comes in as there are different ways of stressing a point when the bottom line is that you want people to visit your site.

You can get new information by joining and posting in online forums and blogs. Some even put snippets in their articles. You should add something daily and don’t forget to put a link to your site.

Promoting your site through article marketing is very easy. You just have to follow the 4 secrets mentioned and then use this to your advantage. Again, you need to have a catchy title, make sure it is well organized and informative so people will be encouraged to visit your site.

Article marketing is the easiest most effective marketing strategy online but one mistake most online article marketers make can reduce the efficiency of article marketing. In the other hands, successful marketers write their own articles, which make the articles unique and rich, and spend some money on effective distribution service like Unique Article Wizard.

And here is a huge tip: Use UAW Signup Form, not only to distribute your articles but also to receive some unique in your niche articles from them directly to your blog, article directory or your website.

If done properly, you will undoubtedly get more traffic which is what this form of advertising is all about.

Publishers must join an advertiser's program (through the CJ Account Manager) before being able to use that advertiser's links on their Web sites. For the best results, you need to have steady traffic to your Web site, and you need to test different links and advertiser programs to find the ones that are best suited to your site and your audience.
Commission Junction supports multiple action types. An action can be a sale on an advertiser's Web site, a lead, or any other objective the advertiser wants to accomplish through its publishers. With a sale action, an advertiser pays a publisher a flat rate or percentage of the sale price when a purchase is made on the advertiser's Web site. With a lead actor, an advertiser pays a publisher a flat rate for each visitor the publisher refers to the advertiser's site that signs up for a service or fills out a form. Coming to the facts, no affiliate program is all that good by itself. It is good only to the extent you are good! So let us find out as to what are the things that go into making the best affiliate programs.

Things that make the best affiliate programs:

  • -Your interest in the product/service of the affiliate merchant
  • -The first and most important aspect is your interest in the actual product/service the affiliate merchant deals with. Only when you have interest and information about the product/service will you be able to promote it effectively.
  • -Quality of products/services the merchant deals with
  • -The second most important factor is the quality of products/services. You got to make sure that your affiliate merchant has products/services that are likely to sell. Low-quality products don't stand a chance and will only waste your time with low returns.
  • -Commission Scheme of the affiliate program
  • -Commission schemes are important but are definitely not the only things in an affiliate program. A good commission scheme is the one which promises lifetime commissions, has a moderate commission rate and allows commission tiers.
  • -Affiliate service network or a high-quality tracking software used
  • -Frauds are common if not frequent in many affiliate programs as the odds are against you. The only way to safeguard against getting cheated is to go for affiliate programs that use a reliable affiliate network service or a good tracking software.
  • -Website of the affiliate merchant
  • -The website of the affiliate merchant should be designed to sell. It should be scalable and must not contain banner ads, pop-ups etc that distract the customers from buying the final product/service that you are promoting.
  • -Already existing affiliates of the affiliate merchant
  • -It's always better to check out the already existing affiliates of the affiliate merchant. A small company having thousands of affiliates is generally not recommended.

So always look for these details while selecting an affiliate program. Although no affiliate program can guarantee you returns, taking these precautions will at-least ensure that you are on the right track.

Simple Ways To Advertise And Grow Your Membership Website

Simple Ways to Advertise and Grow Your Membership Website by Alan Liew

"Many internet marketers recognize that a membership site is a great way to bring in a comfortable and consistent income. So they find a great niche, set up their membership website and add great content, there is still one major step, getting members to join. At first glance, this often seems a bit overwhelming and is the point where membership site owners often get discouraged. Not knowing how to find members stop many online marketers even before they get started.
Membership

Fortunately, it is not too difficult to grow your membership base. As long as you understand that it may take some time. Don’t expect to fill up your site overnight. Instead, shoot for a couple of new members a day. Over time, you will be able to draw a pretty good income. Below, are some simple ways to advertise:

Start An Affiliate Program: One very effective way to grow your membership website is to offer people (members and non-members) the ability to earn money by getting other people to join.
Think about it: for example - If your monthly fee is $29, offering individuals 50% or $14.50 each month for every new member that they sign up would be very enticing. If you get the right affiliates, you may not have to do much advertising at all.

Hang Out Where Your Potential Members Are: Spending time at the same places that people who might be interested in joining your membership site is a really good way to get members. This might include forums and social networking websites.

Try Adwords: Depending on what niche you are targeting, Adwords may be a great way to get the word out about your site and to get new members. Make sure that you carefully target your audience so that you don’t waste your money and time.

Write Press Releases: Press releases are another excellent way to advertise your membership website. There are a few fairly good options and some excellent paid ones. If you don’t know where to begin, consider Prweb.com. If you optimize your website and choose good keywords, you can get some good rankings for both your sales page and your release.

Forum Marketing: Once you figure out where your target audience spends their time online, it is time to go to them. Often times, forums are a great place to find people that will be interested in your offer. If the forum allows, make a post advertising your membership site. If they do not allow blatant advertising, then create a signature link ad.

Social Networking Websites: Social networking websites are another fantastic, advertising option. Find one that caters to your niche and then create short articles or blurbs that would interest them so that they click on your website. After you get them there, it is up to you to sell your product. Consider, giving them a few free days or a free report so that they have some idea of the quality of content that you are offering."

Ad Formats

When choosing Adsense for your website one of the things you will need to know is the right ad format. Not al formats convert the same or even work on your site. The Adsense ads are best dominated by testing and learning from trial and error. Ad formats depend on the placement on your website.

Ad Formats
If you want a large ad unit on top of your site or in the page footer than you will most likely go for the leaderboard.

  • The leaderboard is a very popular ad design and Adsense places 4 ad units on the leaderboard. The size of a leaderboard is 728 x 90 pixels. The leaderboard design converts well on most sites that use this format in the header
  • If you want to put banner type ads on your site you should pick the 468 x 60 banner with 2 ads in it.This type of banner can be used very effectively on top of content or below it. The half banner only shows 1 ad and can be used everywhere on your site.
  • Its size is 234 x 60 pixels. However, if you want to go for a more vertical layout of your ads the 120 x 240 pixels vertical banner may be the one you are looking for
  • If you want to show a single ad in a very attractive way than take a look at the square 125 x 125 layout. You can mix the ad colors with an eye-catching background to make it stand out and you will surely draw a lot of attention to this ad
  • If you need ads to be shown on one or either side of your content a skyscraper holding 3 or 4 ads can be the solution. The skyscraper was specifically designed for this purpose and its format is 120 x 600 pixels. If you would like to have more space for ads choose the 160 x 600 wide skyscraper because this one can hold 5 ads
  • The Small Rectangle is 180 X 150 and holds one AdSense ad very well. The Medium Rectangle format allows three or four ads to be placed inside a 300 X 250 rectangle. The Large Rectangle, perfect for placing four ads inside, is 336 X 280. The Square measures 250 X 250 and holds up to three AdSense ads well.
  • If you use image-based Adsense ads, you can choose the Leader Board which you will find placed across the top of many websites. It measures 728 X 90. The Banner is a smaller and that measures 468 X 60. The SkyScraper and Wide Sky Scraper are also choices for use on the sides of a webpage. Or you can choose the Medium Rectangle format. All of these image ads hold a single image.

There are also various layouts for displaying Link Unit Adsense ads so that they will fit well into your website also. They can be stacked, lined up across the top or bottom and allow just as much variety as the text and image ads.

Making Money Online Is Easy

Target Affiliates Money will teach you how to making money online is easy, and best of all, it's free.
We've reviewed all of the top "making money" programs online and have created this site to help you determine which products and services will actually help you make money online!

easy

The first question is: How Does Someone Make Money Online?

There are many ways to make money online, but the most common, and most lucrative way to make money online is to sell products for companies willing to share the profits with you. The process of marketing to people online is called "Internet Marketing" and it is a multi-billion dollar industry. Hundreds of thousands of people, just like yourself, are making money online every day by partnering with companies who pay commissions based on sales that you help generate.

This sounds difficult but it's not because these companies have "Affiliate Programs" setup for their partners (Affiliates).
You can partner with thousands of companies online and start selling their products in literally minutes.
So how do you start selling a companies products as an Affiliate?
Simple, all you need to do is send visitors to their websites. This sounds simple, and it is, but finding the right kind of traffic and enough of it is more difficult. Websites like Target Affiliates Money teach people techniques to drive traffic to Affiliate sites and earn HUGE dollars online. Making $500 a day online is quite normal and you can get started very quickly if you know the right techniques.

The second question: What If I have No Experience?

The most common misconception about Internet Marketing is that only people with good computer knowledge and marketing skills can take part. This is NOT the case.

  • You DO NOT NEED a website
  • You DO NOT NEED your own product
  • You DO NOT NEED any previous experience (none)

What you will need is a guide to help you learn how to get started.
The top marketing website online is called the ClickBank

The third: Be careful who you choose to learn from!

Everyone has heard of being "Scammed" on the Internet, and although this is only somewhat true, many people have learned about making money online from companies who do not have good reputations in the Internet Marketing world. There are many companies out there that offer good techniques and strategies but with little support or coaching.

Programs like the ClickBank,  Amazon.com offers both great techniques and support.
If you are just getting started with Internet Marketing, support is one of the first things that you need to look for when choosing a guide. Also, steer clear of anything that offers you "Overnight" success, or "Get Rich Quick" programs.

There is no such thing as "Getting Rich Quick" on the Internet. It doesn't matter what you hear, you will never make money on the Internet overnight.Internet Marketing is a real business and it takes time to grow your business to a point where you are earning $500 / day.If you are dedicated to learning the correct techniques and are willing to put in the work, you WILL achieve your goals of making big money online.
